Pregnancy: Pregnant women who have a good nutrition should not take vitamin E supplements as amount of vitamin E in diet is adequate. In individuals with malnutrition, vitamin E supplements should be taken as daily sufficient need.
Lactation: vitamin E passes into milk, vitamin E level in human milk is higher 5 times than in cow milk and human milk is more effective in maintaining serum sufficient vitamin E level for children until 1 year old.
Daily vitamin E need in lactation is 12mg. Breast-feeding mothers should only take vitamin E supplements when vitamin E quantity in diet is not supplied sufficiently as daily need.
